can I enjoy great beer?
Augustiner Keller in
Arnulfstrasse is a must if you're in Munich.
The Augustiner Monks have been brewing a local favourite for well over a
thousand years. This beer garden seats 5,000 thirsty guests and has over 100
chestnut trees. S-Bahn station "Hackerbrücke" or 10 minute walk
from the mainstation.
Where
can I find authentic Bavarian cuisine?
One of the best
authentic Bavarian kitchens is the Weisses-Brauhaus am Tal, just outside the
Old City Hall Tower. They specialize in every kind of Bavarian cuisine
available. Try the Schweinsbraten for dinner and the traditional Weisswurst with
a Bretzl and a Wheat beer for lunch.
Where
should I buy my souvenirs and gifts?
Herrmann is the
place to go. You won't find a better selection of authentic Black Forest
Koo-koo Clocks, Bierkrugs (Beer Steins) and other German keepsakes in all of
Bavaria! Shop is located in the center of Munich between Marienplatz and Karlsplatz
in the Pedestrian Area..
Where
can I get a great cocktail?
No surprise here...
Suasalitos between Marienplatz and Isartor am Tal wins hands down! The
atmosphere is big and fun, and the Mex-Tex food is terrific.
Where
can I buy an awesome bottle of wine?
Marie at "Der
Weinladen Schwarzwälder" really knows her stuff. The shop is open Monday
through Friday from 9.30 to 18.30 and Saturday until 14.30. Find it behind
the Frauenkirche at the corner of Hartmannstrasse and Löwengrube.
Where
do I rent a car to drive the Romantic
Road?

Where
is the best Italian food?
Bernies Nudelbrett
behind St. Peter's Church near Marienplatz is the place for Italian food and
specialty pizzas.

Get your
Birkenstocks and other great shoes at Seibels Schuh store. They're located at
Reichenbachstrasse 8 - across from the Vikualienmarkt.

Where
can I get a snack at the Hauptbahnhof?
Yorma's is the best
place for a quick bite or to stock up. They are located next door to the
tourist information centre outside and at the end of the main platforms.
Where
do I get a sandwich at Marienplatz?
Subway sells great
sandwiches at good prices. They're at "Am Rindermarkt 6" which is
the road between the Bank and the Hugendubel bookshop.
